  • Mission

    Dynamic Media Development (DMD) Engineer with production art and pre-press experience who will be responsible for merging design layouts (Adobe Creative Suite – especially InDesign) with complex programming logic through XMPie components (uPlan using QLingo) to create output for high volume digital print production devices (i.e. Creo print spoolers, Xerox iGens, Xeikon, HP Indigo and Kodak digital color presses) and cross media campaigns (i.e. variable personalized URLs and emails).

    • Using program requirements document and consultation with project manager, program manager and team members gathers information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with others in operations.
    • Create valid HTML & CSS markup to create email and/or landing page templates from supplied creative (in Adobe Photoshop format).
    • Perform a hybrid of a traditional production artist / pre-press type activities, using a scripting language QLingo, which is similar to JavaScript, and the ability to manipulate data, to achieve programming objectives defined in requirements document.
    • Manipulates and/or converts data in a variety of formats including SQL data, delimited files, and to a limited extent; Excel, and Access databases.
    • Designs or writes program specifications based on program requirements documents.
    • Responsible for program quality by creating a test plan – using test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specification.
    • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
    • Upon approval, release programs into production.



    • Two year technical college degree or certificate preferable.
    • Certificates in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MS-SQL, XMPie and Adobe, preferred.


    • 2 – 4 years of work experience in programming in lieu of degree.
    • Direct experience using XMPie (QLogic, uPlan, etc.) given preference.



    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:


    Knowledge of:

    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.
    • Knowledge of SQL, Access, or other database programming language.
    • Knowledge of JavaScript (optimum) or VBScript (acceptable).
    • Good knowledge of all popular email clients

    • Must have strong oral and written communications skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong experience of Responsive email designs
    • Strong HTML skills
    • Strong CSS skills
    • 1-3 years of email marketing experience
    • Experience with Email Service providers (mailchimp, exacttarget etc)
    • Basic sql skills
    • Intermediate javascript experience
    • Analytical and creative thinker with excellent time management and problem solving skills. 
    • Eye for detail, strong organization skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. 
    • Having experience in XMPIE is a big plus


    Ability to:

    • Ability to convert program requirements, designs and specifications into scripts.
    • Build email templates for used across various campaigns.
    • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues, code solutions and email best practices
    • Ability to work and interact smoothly and effectively in a team-oriented environment. 
    • Able to operate independently and with minimal supervision.
