    We’re on the hunt for an experienced Instructional Designer who ranks in the top quartile among their peers. Someone who has a highly competitive and entrepreneurial mindset that is wired with a team-first attitude, has no problem rolling up their sleeves to execute their missions, and can modulate between leading and following as needed. You will serve as the Instructional Designer.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission. The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. Create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for multimedia, web-based publication, user sites, and embedded user assistance technology.
    2. Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation and translate all technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users.
    3. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements and produce products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

    Additional responsibilities of this role include:

    • Create and maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
    • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
    • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
    • Collaborate with translators as necessary to convert writing into a variety of languages
    • Research and build knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
    • Revise, edit, or update instructions, technical information, and frequently asked questions and product release notes as necessary
    • Create, adapt, and follow project schedules and deadlines
    • Prepare or commission graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing

    Qualifications

    Are You Qualified?

    • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, or Information Technology
    • Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
    • In depth knowledge of Software and Computers
    • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
    • Excellent written skills in English (Spanish and French a plus)
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
