Someone who has a highly competitive and entrepreneurial mindset that is wired with a team-first attitude, has no problem rolling up their sleeves to execute their missions, and can modulate between leading and following as needed.  You will serve as the New Product Development Manager.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission.  The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission.  The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. Leverage market expertise to identify new product/service opportunities for Explore Information Solutions
    2. Manage new product development process from ideation through launch of assigned new product concepts
    3. Drive Business to achieve New Product Development revenue goals through support of building and selling new product concepts

    Additional responsibilities of the role include:

    • Assist Director of NPD in the generation, definition and validation of new product concepts.
    • Participate in ideation exercises, investigate market needs, size and segments, define unique value propositions, perform competitor analyses and ongoing monitoring and conduct customer needs interviews, surveys and value chain mapping.
    • Deliver clear, quantifiable and actionable insights regarding market drivers, unmet market needs, opportunity size and user segment definition, opportunities for differentiation, competitive products, projected revenue and costs and potential market entry barriers.
    • Manage new product concept pipeline by documenting and categorizing all new concepts, effectively prioritizing concepts, and creating work plans that clearly communicate the timelines of deliverables.
    • Create business cases for high-potential new product concepts.
    • Support Senior Management in acquisition and partnership analysis.


    Are You Qualified?

    • 3-5 years of experience in B2B new product development research, analysis, definition and validation.
    • Strong background in and passion for creating market needs analyses, market sizing, market segmentation, competitor and value proposition analyses and definition and product business cases/financial analyses.
    • Superior problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentational.
    • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple projects at the same time, while being able to deliver in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
    • Experience managing external research processes a plus but not required
    • Background in insurance or data services industry preferred but not required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or Finance
    • MBA preferred
