    We’re on the hunt for an experienced Accounting Supervisor who ranks in the top quartile among their peers. Someone who has a highly competitive and entrepreneurial mindset that is wired with a team-first attitude, has no problem rolling up their sleeves to execute their missions, and can modulate between leading and following as needed. You will serve as the Accounting Supervisor. Due to our continued growth, Solera has established a new world class Finance Business Services center in South Jordan, UT to support our North American business operations. We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to help enable the enterprise “record to report” process on behalf of our North American businesses.

    Position 80s

    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission. The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. 80/20: Provide a world class accounting service to our internal business customers that allows them to focus on the 80 of delivering value to our North American customers
    2. 30/30: Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the current General accounting processes identifying opportunities to leverage the scope and scale of a common enterprise world class R2R process and enabling systems.
    3. 90/10: Drive the improvement of the Solera Finance Business Services organization to enable our North American business to become one Team focused on One Strategy to achieve Mission 2020.


    Additional responsibilities of the role include:

    • Lead a team (4-5) of accountants to support specific North American businesses.
    • Responsible for the overall accounting deliverables for assigned businesses.
    • Prepare, review and verify the accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations and reports.
    • Analyze financial reports and records, ensure compliance with US GAAP and presentation requirements, compliance with SOX/internal controls and corporate policies, and identify and report any issues.
    • Mentor accountants on accounting processes and procedures.
    • Participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports; participate in cost analyses and internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls along with preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
    • Engage in the more critical and confidential aspects of accounting, assisting in the development of policies and systems.
    • Analyze and resolve complex accounting issues.
    • Prepare balance sheet, income statement and other reports for assigned businesses.
    • Assist Accounting Manager and Controller with any special projects and tasks.
    • Prepare monthly account analyses and reconciliation of accounts as needed
    • Monthly preparation and upload of required data into Cognos for consolidation.
    • Support the monthly close process and ensure that all assigned close activities are accurately completed in a timely manner.


    Are You Qualified?

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
    • CPA required.
    • 5 - 8 years professional accounting experience.
    • At least 3 years supervising professional staff.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • 3 - 5 years public accounting experience required.
    • Prior experience in software industry preferred
    • Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
    • Understanding of the Sarbanes Oxley act and experience managing internal control plans.
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills
    • Strong organizational & analytical skills.
    • Ability to function effectively in an open team environment.
    • Proven ability to problem-solve, multi task and prioritize within a fast paced and changing business environment.
    • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
    • Preference for Oracle 11i / R12, Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP and Cognos.
