    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission.  The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission.  The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. Support the virtualization infrastructure that runs 90%of all production services running in a data center.
    2. Support the disaster recovery infrastructure that supports all of US Revenue Generating Products.
    3. Provide leadership in our technical architecture strategy for our virtualization platform.

    Additional Responsibilities of the role Include:

    • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Windows and Linux server hardware and software in a Data Center environment. 
    • Assist with daily software deployments to Windows and Linux systems in production, QA, development and production environments.   Using windows and Linux administration experience.
    • Assist with deployments of code and patches using working knowledge of tools like SCCM and/or Octopus deploy.
    • Build, deploy and configure web and application servers supporting Java and .Net applications running on Apache, NGIX and IIS. 
    • Administer enterprise VMware environment leveraging best practices such as HA clustering, storage allocation, capacity planning and performance tuning.  
    • Support automation efforts to include fostering a mindset built on automation and continuous deployment. 
    • Perform daily tasks such as managing and resolving trouble tickets and change requests, performance tuning, capacity planning, and maintaining documentation. 
    • Assist project teams in technical design, strategy, planning and implementation of hardware and software roll-outs. 
    • Support development and QA teams in troubleshooting application and infrastructure related issues.


    Are You Qualified?

    • 5+ years of Windows and/or Linux server experience in an enterprise environment.  
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.  
    • Working experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems including OS deployments, software upgrades, patching, configuration, troubleshooting and administration of both OS’s is desired. 
    • Experience supporting Java and .NET applications, including deploying and configuring web and application servers such as Apache, NGINX and IIS.  
    • Experience writing automation scripts using tools such as Shell scripting, Ansible, Powershell, Puppet, Chef, Octopus Deploy, SCCM and/or other technologies preferred.  SCCM experience is desirable.
    • Virtualization experience with VMWare, Hyper-v and/or Openstack. 
    • Strong understanding and/or working experience with networking, SAN and storage platforms using iSCSI and/or fiber channel. 
    • Must be self-driven with a passion and commitment to quality.
    • Enterprise experience supporting highly available and redundant systems located in dispersed data centers. 
    • Experience building high availability and fail over clustered systems like Microsoft availability groups and/or Linux clusters.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment where change is constant and needs to be managed. 
    • Willingness to work flexible schedule.
