We’re on the hunt for an experienced VP of Field Sales & Key Accounts who ranks in the top quartile among their peers. Someone who has a highly competitive and entrepreneurial mindset that is wired with a team-first attitude, has no problem rolling up their sleeves to execute their missions, and can modulate between leading and following as needed. As the VP, Field Sales and Key Accounts, you will report directly to the SVP, Field Sales in Dallas, TX.  You will use your skills, experience and talents to help drive sales profitability by ensuring aggressive hunting and consistency / quality in all interactions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Drive Sales Growth
    • Build a Qualified 3:1 Sales Pipeline
    • Deliver Price Increase / Renewals
    • Customer issue metrics & resolution (cancellations)
  2. Strategic Account/Industry Involvement
    • Define and deliver most accretive initiatives to drive near-term growth and differentiation
    • Define winning Technology/Services Bundle
  3. Qualify the Team and Drive Accountability
    • Develop and review weekly Performance Metrics
    • Re-assess Talent / Close Gaps / Justify Accretive Investments
    • Raise the bar on training, communication, and employee engagement

Additional responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and implement the field sales strategy for the Service, Maintenance and Repair sector.  You will grow and implement a professional sales team consisting of direct employees, 1099 sales agencies and affiliate sales teams.
  • As part of your field sales team you will acquire dedicated inside representatives to work with your field efforts.
  • Manage an inside team for product line extension of “add on” features/solutions to core products.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and grow annual sales targets, expanding both the breadth of accounts and the diversity of products within those accounts.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvement.  Works closely with the inside and OE sales management teams to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and manage an effective sales pipeline.  Work with the team of sales representatives on their weekly/monthly sales goals.
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.


Are You Qualified?

  • Automotive industry sales experience, specifically calling on aftermarket shops, jobbers and distribution networks
  • Experience leading field-based sales teams of various flavors (affiliate, 1099, sales agencies and direct sales)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively to all levels of the organization, including Executives
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict
  • High degree of integrity to handle confidential material.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Up to 50% travel
