Position Description

The Data Analyst will leverage data sets to solve complex business problems and evaluate scenarios to support business decision making. The Data Analyst will manage large sets of data in support of business decision making.  Responsibilities include analysis and validation of existing data sets, creation of new data files by combining large volumes of existing data, movement of data between formats and locations, and other analytical tasks as needed.  Additionally, the data analyst is expected to be customer centric and have the skills to understand the technical nature of the data as well as the ability to communicate insights.


The successful candidate will be self-directed, creative, and a solid team player.

Position 80s

  • Critical thinking with investigative mindset and ability to understand business needs in order to apply data assets and analyses to address business issues
  • Analyze new data sets to evaluate completeness, format, accuracy, and alignment with existing data
  • Combine multiple data files to create new files in defined formats
  • Perform unions, calculations, filtering, and re-organization within data sets in support of product development and customer tests
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate accuracy of processed data outputs
  • Communicate the results of the analysis to nontechnical audiences
  • Create and maintain documentation of data models and database schemas
  • High levels of integrity, autonomy, self-motivation, and optimism
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others without direct authority


  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Solid experience querying and working with Microsoft SQL Server SQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to function independently and as a team member
  • 2 – 4 years or more of industry, related experience preferred
  • Exposure to ETL processes, actuarial science, statistics, machine learning, GIS analysis and programming languages is desirable.
