As both a business and technical leader, the ideal Technical Operations Manager will lead from a place of experienced authority as well as through their willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done while actively crafting systems, processes, and procedures which will scale up to meet the needs, risks, challenges, and opportunities of a high-growth organization.  This individual will interact with a broad range of stakeholders including both internal and external customers, requiring a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simplified terms in order to enable other areas of the business to support key IT strategies and initiatives.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about standard methodologies, operational excellence, and challenging the status quo in pursuit of best-in-class execution and the achievement of business success.

  • Establish a vision for IT infrastructure, platforms and applications, aligned with business strategy.
  • Provide senior management with an enterprise-wide perspective and put strategies and plans for Information Systems into context with other projects and associated risks
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Tech Ops and IT teams by creating an environment for success and results.
  • Develop a team of technology professionals capable of providing tactical support for day to day operations.
  • Provide strategic direction for infrastructure and end-user support; deliver extraordinary customer service for end-user support.
  • Ensure effective performance, 24x7 availability, and proper change control of the production Information systems.
  • Responsible for generating and presenting metrics, reports, and defining and distributing SLAs
  • Establish and evolve processes for systems management, change management and availability
  • Work across the organization to ensure advances in areas such as software development and the cloud are fully exploited within the Technology Infrastructure.
  • Propose and lead an annual budget for Corporate IT; manage the purchase of all Corporate IT including hardware, software, support services, and telecommunications circuits.
  • Oversee IT budget, including but not limited to, expenditures, capital requests, labor and variance reporting in accordance with department, property and enterprise IT objectives.
  • Manage multiple IT projects and deliver end results on time and on budget
  • Have excellent organizational and communication skills that enable them to work with all departments across the organization


  • Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline, advanced degree desired.
  • 10+ years of information technology experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Hands-on systems and application architecture experience in large scale, web-based enterprise applications with a preference towards open-source programming languages and relational databases (specifically Microsoft .NET C# applications running on SQL Server) requiredExperience with multi-tenant application support including data-models, data security, and capacity planning in a highly-virtualized environment (VMWare-based)
  • Experience managing corporate IT teams and resources based on Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, SQL Server 2014, Active Directory) and Linux/open source platforms (various Linux distros, Open LDAP, puppet, yum)
  • Experience setting enterprise security standards and policies and implementing procedures across the organization
  • Experience working closely with business process owners on continuous process improvement and the application of technology toward this end
  • Strong, effective verbal and written communications. Ability to communicate to all levels of an organization.
  • Strong customer service, customer focus, ability to provide service to all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in full-life cycle vendor management (negotiation to management).
  • Demonstrated success in project management, managing and improving client satisfaction and excellent organizational communication skills.
