Position Description

The Director of SuperVision Sales is responsible for achieving the fleet business sales goals through the management of the inside and outside sales teams.  The Director of Sales serves as a member of the fleet business leadership team, interfacing with key functional areas and providing perspectives on sales, market, customer and competitive conditions.  The position will be a primary representative for the SuperVision brand to our customers, prospects and internal stake-holders.  This is a highly visible role, both in the field and internally and must interface successfully with all parts of the organization to develop and grow the business.  The role is located in Explore’s Eagan, MN office.

Position 80s

  • Work with the General Manager and senior leadership to establish fleet sales goals commensurate with the business revenue growth objectives
  • Ensure that the annual sales plan and compensation plans are in place to achieve fleet revenue and margin objectives.   Verify that detailed, account level growth plans are prepared for existing and prospective accounts
  • Develop and manage budgets for sales in conjunction with General Manager and finance team
  • Recruit and hire sales team members
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to sales executives.    Identify opportunities to improve sales and product training and incorporate in annual plan
  • Develop sales targets, quotas, and compensation plans
  • Develop and manage account retention plans
  • Assist sales executives in the growth and maintenance of relationships with top customers
  • Work with General Manager and Explore legal on negotiation of customer contracts
  • Collaborate with customer service team to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Work with cross functional team to integrate new products into sales process
  • Perform ongoing assessments of sales structure to ensure maximum efficiency and the achievement of revenue and margin objectives
  • Assist in sales presentations and closing of business
  • Maintain and manage sales forecast


  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree required
  • Seasoned sales manager with a minimum of ten years sales management experience
  • Experience in data or software sales preferred
  • Experience in the commercial fleet industry is a definite plus
  • Successful track record managing and selling to large national accounts
  • Demonstrated success in building a sales team and culture
  • Demonstrated a range of sales capabilities with the personal credibility to gain access to key decision makers
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Strong conceptual thinker, yet detailed oriented when required
  • Ability to be self-directed with an overall action orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member with high level of tact and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor sales team members
  • Flexibility and willingness to roll up sleeves, calling on and selling directly if required to meet objectives
