Mission

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of business and IT projects, program planning, change/risk management, coordination of project delivery and results measurement. This position leads the product owner(s) and technology teams in translating the product vision into a portfolio of projects. In addition, must ensure that projects are planned and executed in a manner consistent with company strategy, commitments, goals, and standards. This position is expected to develop and apply industry best practices in managing the day-to-day activities of projects.

Position 80s

  • Portfolio Planning Translates the product vision into a portfolio of projects. Leads creating portfolio related deliverables and manages the process of keeping it up-to-date (additions, deletions, changes).
  • Project Planning Lead the proposal and planning of large-scale projects including; facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables; Gather project tasks and resource requirements; developing full-scale project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Project Management Manages day-to-day aspects of project(s) and scope. Implements and manages large-scale projects, changes, corrective actions, and interventions to achieve project outputs. Manages project budget. Track project deliverables using appropriate tools. Manage requests for changes and prioritize work based on business needs and available resources.  Analyzes impact of changes across all projects and teams.
  • Communications Develop and plan communication strategies to ensure status, activities, accomplishments, issues, changes, and risks are communicated to senior management, project stakeholders, and IT teams proactively.
  • Process Guidance Provide process leadership, direction, and support to project teams. Tailors the SDLC to meet unique project needs.  Reviews deliverables prepared by team for content and process adherence.  Identifies opportunities for improvement and contributes best practices and thought leadership to the PMO.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: (e.g. include education, experience, special skills, licenses or certifications)

  • Business Acumen.  Possess detailed functional understanding of the products supported and the business processes they enable.  Contributes to the solution “definition”.
  • Technical Acumen.  Able to understand the technology concepts used on projects in enough depth to challenge assumptions, estimates, approaches, and risks.  Possess general understanding of technical design, programming, database, infrastructure, and quality assurance.
  • Project Management Thought Leader. Remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices.  Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.  Manages the process of innovative change effectively.
  • Leadership.  Inspires coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.  Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.   Manages the development of high performing teams.
  • Conflict management. Able to defuse tension among project team, should it arise.
  • Flexible during times of change.  Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Delegation.  Able to effectively prioritize, delegate, and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment.  Able to lead several large-scale or complex projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration. Able to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Experience managing web application development.
  • Familiar with more than one software development methodology.
  • Ability to discern user requirements and develop specifications.
  • Knowledge of web standards.
  • Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management.
  • Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry compliance requirements.
  • Exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations.
